President and Principal Hydrogeologist

During his 26-year career, Mr. Mason has worked in all aspects of the industry, from drilling to project management in the areas of environmental consulting, engineering, geology and hydrology.

Mr. Mason's experience includes the following:

  • Management of Scores of UST Closures and Cleanups
  • Environmental Site Assessments
  • Brownfield Redevelopment, RCRA/CERCLA Sites
  • Comprehensive Soil and Groundwater Investigations
  • Remedial Action Planning, Implementation and Permitting

At GeoSci, his responsibilities include the following:

  • Business Development
  • Project Management
  • Final Project Review

Mr. Mason is a licensed geologist in North Carolina and a registered professional geologist in Tennessee.

  • Member of the American Consulting Engineers Council and Groundwater Professionals of NC
  • Member and Past Chair of the Environmental Issues Committee of the Greater Winston-Salem Chamber of Commerce
  • Currently, Serves as Chairman of the Streetcar Taskforce for the Infrastructure Committee of the Downtown Winston-Salem Partnership

Carl von Isenburg, M.S.E., P.E., (Principal Civil Engineer)

Principal Civil Engineer

Mr. von Isenburg has three decades of experience in design, construction and project management. He has worked in large international and small regional firms, on three continents.

At GeoSci, his responsibilities include the following:

  • Geotechnical Investigations
  • Construction and Materials Testing
  • Analysis and Design for Site Development, Foundations, Retaining Walls, Dams, Stormwater, Erosion Control and Structures
  • Technical Review of all Engineering Designs and Reports
  • Directing all Operations for the Engineering Department

Mr. von Isenburg is a licensed professional engineer in both North Carolina and New Jersey.

Peter H. DeVries, (Project Geologist)

Project Geologist

Mr. DeVries served for 18 years as a wastewater and hazardous waste management specialist at Stroh's Brewery.

At GeoSci, his responsibilities include the following:

  • Environmental Site Assessments
  • Onsite Wastewater Evaluation/Design
  • Air Quality and Stormwater Permitting
  • Wetlands Delineation/Mitigation
  • Stream Permitting and Restoration
  • Wastewater Systems Operator

Mr. DeVries is a:

  • North Carolina Certified Class II Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator
  • Subsurface Systems Operator
  • Surface Irrigation Operator
  • Physical/Chemical Systems Operator

Mr. DeVries is currently the Chairman of the Forsyth County Environmental Affairs Advisory Board.

R. JEFF WYATT, (PROJECT MANAGER)

Project Manager

In the engineering field, Mr. Wyatt coordinates construction testing, monitoring and quality assurance on major construction projects. With 32 years of experience, Mr. Wyatt is a licensed North Carolina well contractor and manages drilling services for geotechnical engineering and environmental investigations. Other responsibilities include environmental site assessments, indoor air quality testing, UST closure monitoring, laboratory analytical data quality management, groundwater sampling, construction management and maintenance of remediation system equipment. Also, Mr. Wyatt has certifications with NC wastewater, nuclear density gauge, and is the company’s radiation safety officer.

Cody J. Williams, E.I. (Project Specialist)

Cody J. Williams, E.I. is a project specialist with a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. His responsibilities include civil design, AutoCAD drafting, soils and construction testing and monitoring, as well as structural inspection and recommendations.
